Longines Legend Diver: Mastering the depths this summer with three new models
Fusing timeless heritage with contemporary vision, Longines is expanding its legendary diving watch collection for 2025. The Legend Diver adds a striking new matt white dial model and introduces versatile blue and black rubber straps. These new additions continue the legacy of Longines' iconic diving watch first introduced in 1959, combining design elegance with cutting-edge performance.

Evolving with precision for over six decades, the Longines Legend Diver stands as a testament to the brand's commitment to both innovation and tradition in quality diving watches. The latest chapter in this storied collection introduces a model with a striking new matt white dial alongside two new rubber straps. Instantly recognizable by its dual crowns and internal rotating bezel, this emblematic timepiece unites more than six decades of diving heritage with contemporary precision and timeless design.
For 2025, the Swiss watchmaker has introduced a model featuring an immaculate, matt white dial that provides exceptional contrast and readability, while maintaining the distinctive DNA of the collection. The hours are marked by extended indexes and raised Arabic numerals, complemented by satinated black and light green arrow hands, all treated with Super-LumiNova® to ensure optimal visibility in all conditions. This pristine dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with black-metallic coating and multi-layer anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The watch comes with a stainless-steel bracelet with beads-of-rice links at the centre, providing exceptional flexibility and comfort on the wrist. The bracelet also features a micro-adjustable, double-folding safety clasp for a refined aesthetic that balances technical performance with understated elegance.
Complementing the collection are two models featuring either a lacquered blue dial or a lacquered black dial, now paired with matching blue or black rubber straps, respectively. These expand the already diverse Legend Diver lineup, which previously offered these distinctive dials with a stainless steel bracelet or leather or nylon nato straps. Combining comfort, durability and style, rubber bracelets are a must-have for every occasion in 2025. The addition of this option provides a contemporary look that combines the durability of rubber with the sophistication of the Legend Diver design. Each new strap features a diver pin-buckle that ensures a secure fit whether exploring the depths below or enjoying adventures on land.
All three timepieces maintain the sleek 39 mm stainless-steel case with alternating polished and satin finishes. The internal bidirectional rotating bezel—a revolutionary feature first introduced by Longines in 1936—remains protected inside the case and is operated by the screw-in crown at 2 o’clock, which activates it on a 60-minute scale, graduated on the flange and topped with a luminescent triangle symbol. This innovative design not only continues the heritage of the original model but also provides practical protection against accidental manipulation or shocks.

In keeping with Longines' commitment to exceptional performance, these watches are certified as diving watches (ISO 6425) with water resistance up to 30 bar (300 metres). The entire Legend Diver watch is also fully chronometer-certified by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres), ensuring superior accuracy in all conditions. It is powered by the exclusive Longines calibre L888.6 with silicon balance spring and innovative components, providing a magnetic resistance ten times greater than the ISO 764 reference standard. These exceptionally precise automatic watches have up to 72 hours of power reserve.
With its blend of heritage-inspired design and cutting-edge technology, the expanded Legend Diver collection continues to exemplify Longines’ philosophy that elegance is, indeed, an attitude, one that transcends time and remains as relevant today as when the original model first appeared over six decades ago.

Divers’ watch certification (ISO 6425)
The ISO 6425 standard is established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and specifies the criteria and requirements for divers’ watches and deep-diving saturation divers’ watches. According to this standard, a divers’ watch must be water-resistant to a minimum hydrostatic pressure equivalent to 10 bar/100 metres (the immersion test must be carried out with an excess pressure of 25% as compared to the water-resistance required), be resistant to shocks, magnetic fields, condensation, corrosion and temperature variations, be fitted with a secure dive time indicator (e.g. rotating bezel) and offer optimum readability in the dark by means of luminous indicators (e.g. luminescent hands).
About our movements
Backed by centuries of watchmaking expertise, Longines has pioneered many technical advances and still displays an unfailing will to innovate. Its constant pursuit of excellence has led Longines to equip all its automatic timepieces with cutting-edge movements whose features include a silicon balance spring. Silicon is not only lightweight and corrosion-resistant, but also impervious to normal temperature fluctuations and magnetic fields. Its unique properties boost the watch’s precision and longevity and allow Longines to guarantee these models for 5 years.
