A century of pioneering women, timed by Longines
Celebrating International Women's Day 2026

For nearly a century, Longines has stood alongside women who push boundaries. From the pioneering aviators of the early 20th century to today’s modern adventurers, these trailblazers have relied on Longines precision instruments during their record-breaking flights. A true testament to the brand’s enduring legacy of courage, precision and elegance.
Historic figures and aviation experts like Amelia Earhart, Amy Johnson, Elinor Smith, Jacqueline Cochran, and Ruth Nichols relied on Longines timepieces for navigation during their pioneering flights, helping reshape aviation history and challenge gender norms.
Carrying the legacy forward
Today, this legacy continues with Géraldine Fasnacht, snowboarder, pilot, and wingsuit specialist. Géraldine joined the Longines Family in 2022 and since completed the first wingsuit jump from a solar- and electric-powered aircraft, wearing her Longines Spirit, symbolizing the brand’s century-long commitment to precision and daring.
As Fasnacht reflects: “Being part of the Longines family means joining an incredible lineage of strong, daring women who refused to accept limits…The pioneering spirit isn’t confined to history; it lives in every woman who dares to chase the impossible.”
This International Women’s Day, Longines celebrates women who defy expectations, make the impossible possible, and continue to write history, one extraordinary moment at a time.
